AI compute is changing not only how much power data centers require, but also how quickly that demand can rise, fall, and repeat. These pulse loads create challenges that conventional power architectures were not designed to manage alone.
This expert panel will examine how power smoothing can be applied across the electrical chain, from utility and on-site power architecture to power conversion, energy storage, racks, and compute. The speakers will discuss the changing role of AC and DC distribution, solid-state transformers, batteries, and hybrid supercapacitors, including how these technologies can work together to improve power quality, resilience, and infrastructure utilization.
Rather than focusing on a single technology, the discussion will give data-center operators, designers, utilities, and technology providers a framework for understanding where fast-response energy support is needed, how differing technologies enable that, and how power architectures are evolving.
